On Saturday, August 29, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. in the Open Air Market park, 305 W. Water Street, Fayette, there was a memorial dedication ceremony to honor Pfc. James Lee, USMC, the only Fayette person to lose his life in the Vietnam war. It was a beautiful day and a great crowd. You may visit the bench at the Open Air Market park in Fayette. The City of Fayette owns two vacant lots on Main Street, in the downtown area. These lots are being offered to someone who presents a valid proposal to the city to construct a new business building on the property or properties. The location of the lots is:
